The HSE objective of Esogra Engineering & Technical Services is to achieve a comprehensive program that maximises production without compromising HSE standards, hence before commencement of any operation, assessment of all risk and hazard (potential dangers) of our work site are carried out. All risk and hazard (potential dangers) of our work site are eliminated where possible or control measures are provided against those risks and hazards where elimination is not reasonably practicable. This objective is achievable through the implementation of the following:-


1. Planning work to avoid personal injury, damages and loss of production time.
2. Maintaining an audit system that systematically detects and corrects unsafe practices and conditions.
3. Requiring the use of personal protective equipment and mechanical guards.
4. Maintaining effective schedule of equipment to prevent accidents.
5. Establish safety- training programs to gain the interest and cooperation of all employees.

General Requirments

Esogra Engineering & Technical Services have on-site dedicated HSE officers whose duty is to ensure all HSE measures put in place are adhered to by all personnel.

Daily safety briefings (pep talk) shall be conducted as well as toolbox meetings prior to the commencement of the day’s work

Site HSE meetings shall be held every week to discuss HSE matters relating to the project execution. All personnel are required to attend the meeting.

The safety officers on site shall conduct Hazard Management audit daily and the necessary forms filled and submitted to the client’s project engineer on weekly basis.

Actions to prevent reoccurrence of identified hazards shall take promptly.

The management of Esogra Engineering & Technical Services ensures that every employee and or contractors are committed to the planning and execution of all operations to arrive at the following:

 Pursue the goal of no-harm target.
 All employees’ undergo-pre-employment medical examinations.
 The illicit use of legal drugs or the use, possession, distribution or sale of illegal. Drugs at company or work locations are strictly prohibition.
 Protect the working environment from contamination.
 Ensure that medical certificate of fitness/ x-ray is issued after treatment of any occupational sickness.
 Ensure daily cleaning of the surroundings.
 Self-medication is not allowed.

In the light of the above policy on health, there are staff retainership clinic with first aiders/qualified nurses to render first aid services in event of accident before referral to the clinic if need be.

It is the policy of Esogra Engineering & Technical Services to carry out its activities in such a manner that no fatality or damages to property arise there from. Every necessary step is taken to safeguard all who work for us including third parties. To boost safety culture in our operations, positive attitudes to safety are usually rewarded while negative ones are frowned at. For optimum actualization of the safety policy, Esogra employed conglomerate of trained, skilled and certified safety personnel.

To this end the following holds.

 Strict compliance to company`s rules and regulations governing right driving.
 Adequate contingency plans and follow-up actions be put in place to cope with any incident/ accident that may occur during operations.
 Initiate Unsafe Act Audit review meetings.
 Any work being done must be suspended if the employee believes that it cannot be carried out in accordance with HSE policy and report immediately to the supervisor.
 Staff must put on their PPE.
 Every posted safety warning signs must be adhered to strictly.
 Drivers shall attend drivers’ defensive course (DDC)

Environmental awareness is growing steadily by leaps and bounds so also are litigation that arises from them. Environmental incidents of a large magnitude know no bounds and can therefore affect people, bodies of water and eco-system. It is therefore our management intention to critically review the environmental impacts of any operation before actual work is carried out. This will enable the consequences to be fully understood and controlled. To this effect, all wastes are to be identified according to their nature and degree of harm to the environment. Any materials having dangerous environmental consequences are eliminated where practicable or substituted. Wastes are to be minimized and segregated at sort and stored in the appropriate waste bin with the standard colour codes. To the end, this policy encompasses the following.


 Improve compliance to regulations.
 Support and be guided by all the federal and state government programme aimed at protecting the environment in Nigeria and abide by all existing rules and regulations relevant to environmental sanitation and protection.
 keep its workforce, clients and contractors and the inhabitants in its immediate operational environment adequate informed of known potential hazards that may affect and make them aware of what is being done or should be done to:
• Minimize risk
• Preserve the working environment

It is the duty of Esogra Engineering & Technical Services to ensure adequate security to life and property at all operational sites and locations. Hence the company maintains an appropriate number of locally trained security guards. And as well organized independent security measures. Adequate security assessments are and shall continue to be conducted on weekly basis in all our operational sites and locations in order to ascertain the security situation and to make appropriate corrections when necessary should any lapses be identified from such routine assessment
